Haihao Guo

I am a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in Quantitative Marketing at Washington University in St. Louis. I am advised by Professor Seethu Seetharaman, Professor Baojun Jiang, and Professor Yingkang Xie.

My research studies product development, diffusion, and pricing in entertainment markets, including music, online video, and video games. I combine economic theory with data-driven methods (Generative AI with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) for audio and text, MIR analysis, multi-modal analysis, causal inference, game-theoretic modeling, and structural estimation) to understand why some creative products succeed while most fade quickly.

Outside academia, I am an avid neo-soul and jazz enthusiast. I primarily play jazz guitar and regularly perform with the WashU Jazz Band.
